SAN JUAN CITY, Philippines — Sr. Joan Brigida Corazon Infante, OSA, former president of La Consolacion College Bacolod and now Vicar General and Councilor of Apostolate of the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation, formally opened the 2026 General Assembly of the Association of Schools of the Augustinian Sisters (ASAS), bringing together school heads, administrators and selected teachers from 22 La Consolacion schools across the country.
The two-day conference gathered delegates from Luzon, Visayas-Mindanao under the theme, “One Mind, One Heart, One ASAS: Leveraging Collaboration for a Sustainable Mission.”
In her welcome message, Infante emphasized that collaboration among the ASAS institutions is no longer optional but necessary in addressing the realities faced by Catholic schools, including declining enrollment, increasing regulatory demands and the need to adapt to technological change.
“We are twenty-two, and we know that there is strength in numbers. If we are to sustain our mission, collaboration is no longer an option, but a necessity,” she said.
She urged participants to maximize the gathering as a venue for learning, sharing best practices and building stronger institutional partnerships among member schools.
Infante also highlighted the Augustinian ideal of unity, citing the call to be of “one mind and one heart in God,” a principle she said should guide the schools’ mission of education and service.
She said the assembly aims to deepen appreciation of Augustinian values in leadership, strengthen curriculum integration of core institutional principles, develop strategies in fundraising and marketing, and enhance networking initiatives for sustainable ASAS-wide programs.
Delegates represented the different clusters of the organization, including VisMin, Magayonon, Timog-Ugnayan, Perichoresis and the National Capital Region.
The annual conference serves as one of the major gatherings of the ASAS network, reinforcing shared identity and collective action among La Consolacion schools nationwide.
