La Consolacion College Bacolod hosted the 2nd in-campus COVID-19 vaccination program on December 3, 2021. The event inoculated a total of 821 students and parents, surpassing the rate of the 1st roll-out at LCC Bacolod main campus by almost 200. This despite the 3-day vaccination program which drew together 70,752 individuals at various vaccination sites in the city.
Almost 100% of the personnel and faculty have already received their vaccination against COVID-19, some of them have received their booster shots at the event. Based on the survey conducted among students, more than 90% of the students from 12 years and older have also received the vaccine, but the data needs to be verified based on the actual vaccination cards of the students.
The college aims to apply for limited in-person classes in the Hospitality and Tourism Management programs. Students must be fully vaccinated for them to be able to fully participate in any in-person learning activities.
Percentage wise, Bacolod City tops the vaccination rate in Western Visayas. Dr. Chris Sorongon, the deputy for medical data and analysis of the Emergency Operations Center Task Force (EOC-TF) said that before Christmas, Bacolod City would have vaccinated 85-90 percent of the 420,000 population eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. The city has vaccinated 88% of the target and 66% of which have already completed the required doses.
