November 16, 2024 — La Consolacion College Bacolod proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Kyle Marie Borromeo, a 4th-year Bachelor of Fine Arts student, who secured 5th place in the 57th Shell National Students Art Competition. The announcement was made during the awards ceremony on November 15, 2024, at the Ayala Museum, Makati City.
Borromeo’s long-exposure photography entry, which symbolized the creative passion driving student artists, stood out among hundreds of submissions nationwide. Her innovative approach and heartfelt concept resonated deeply with the judges, earning her recognition as one of the top young artists in the country.
Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, President of LCCB, expressed her pride in Borromeo’s success. “Kyla’s achievement is a testament to the talent, determination, and creativity of our students. She has brought immense pride to the LCCB community, and we are deeply inspired by her journey. This milestone reflects the spirit of excellence and perseverance that we strive to instill in all our learners.”
Borromeo, who created her piece with the collaborative support of friends Kate Billones and Angelie Bayona, credited her family, friends, and the BFA program at LCCB for helping her overcome self-doubt and realize her vision. “Winning 5th place is an honor and a reminder of the importance of believing in yourself and the power of community support,” she shared.
