GOOGLE CLASSROOM UPGRADES SUPPORT MORE RESPONSIVE LEARNING AT LCC BACOLOD

La Consolacion College Bacolod oriented teachers of its Integrated Basic Education Department on the new features of Google Classroom on June 16 to strengthen the implementation of flexible learning and improve the delivery of instruction.

The training was facilitated by Ernie Mallorca, head of the Office of Distance Education and Learning, who discussed updated tools that can help teachers organize coursework, manage assignments, monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.

Mallorca said the new features can make online and blended instruction more responsive to the needs of learners.

“Google Classroom is no longer only a platform for posting lessons and assignments,” Mallorca said. “Its updated features allow teachers to monitor participation more closely, provide feedback more efficiently and organize learning activities in ways that are easier for students to follow.”

The session also guided teachers in using the platform to distribute instructional materials, track submissions, manage grades and maintain communication with students under flexible learning arrangements.

Integrated Basic Education Department Principal Sr. Irene M. Bancolo, OSA, said the training supports the school’s efforts to ensure that teachers are prepared to deliver quality instruction across different learning modalities.

“Technology becomes meaningful when it helps teachers respond more effectively to the needs of learners,” Bancolo said. “By strengthening our teachers’ competence in using Google Classroom, we also strengthen learning continuity, accessibility and student support.”

The orientation formed part of LCC Bacolod’s continuing professional development initiatives for teachers and its preparations for the implementation of flexible learning in the Integrated School.

LCC Bacolod uses Google Classroom as its learning management system to support the distribution of learning resources, submission of student outputs, assessment and communication between teachers and learners.
