La Consolacion College Bacolod’s Humanities and Social Sciences students showcased their research projects on March 22, 2023, at the Little Theater of the school. The presentations were the result of the students’ hard work and dedication to the research process, culminating in a successful event.
The panel of judges, consisting of LCC Bacolod Research Director Dr. Carmen Castro-Menes, esteemed journalist and university professor Dr. Yasmin Pascual-Dormido, and Senior High School Academic Coordinator Mr. Rejay Alvarado, evaluated the eight research projects presented. The topics included binge drinking among adolescents, self-regulated learning, academic achievement during the pandemic, compulsive buying among others.
Rodjhun Navarro, LCC Bacolod’s VP for Research, Innovations, and Linkages, expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments. He stated that the school will produce a compendium of research papers in the Humanities and Social Sciences, with the students revising their work based on the recommendations of the jury. The students had handled every aspect of the research process, including the statistical treatment using SPSS and Google Sheets.
Dr. Pascual-Dormido remarked that the outputs were impressive and provided a strong foundation for college. The event showcased the students’ potential for future research, building a strong foundation for their academic careers. The judges recognized and appreciated the students’ efforts, with the presentation serving as a testament to the school’s focus on research and innovation.
