La Consolacion College Bacolod holds successful parents’ assembly with support for proposed tuition adjustments

La Consolacion College Bacolod recently held a successful parents’ assembly on March 25, 2023, where almost 300 parents attended. The primary purpose of the event was to present the proposed adjustments on tuition and other fees for Academic Year 2023-2024, which received overwhelming support from the parents. The assembly also served as an opportunity to discuss opportunities for improvement, with parents being proactive in suggesting ways to improve student services and clarify academic policies.

One of the highlights of the assembly was the presentation of the Family Council’s accomplishment report by its President, Fernando Pabalinas, which was followed by the financial report. The Family Council has been one of the most active stakeholder groups in supporting the school, sponsoring many institutional and community projects, from scholarships to infrastructure, community outreach, and sponsorship of significant institutional events such as the centennial celebration in 2019.

LCC Bacolod President, Sr. Joan Brigida Corazon S. Infante, OSA, congratulated the officers of the family council and appreciated their contributions to the school. Sr. Infante noted that the leaders were very committed to extending their service for more than 5 years, even when their children had already graduated.

However, it was announced during the assembly that an election of a new set of officers will be held on April 1, 2023, after it had been delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The announcement was met with enthusiasm by the parents, who were excited to participate in the upcoming election.

The assembly ended on a sentimental note as one of the council officers, Arlene Bernardo, delivered her closing remarks, saying that it had been a meaningful and fruitful term for the officers as they had developed a bond that extends beyond their term of service. She encouraged the participants to take on leadership roles in the council and continue supporting the school’s endeavors.

Overall, the assembly was light-spirited and mutually supportive, with a tuition fee discount raffle sponsored by the family council that made the event even more lively and fun. It was a success in terms of achieving the objectives of the assembly and fostering a sense of community among the parents, students, and faculty of La Consolacion College Bacolod.
