Friends of Mo. Consuelo holds feeding program for Grade 7 LCCB Night High School Students during the Relaunch of the Cause for Beatification of Ven. Mo. Consuelo

In a heartfelt gesture echoing the spirit of Ven. Mo. Consuelo Barcelo y Pages, the Friends of Mo. Consuelo, a group of lay persons dedicated to upholding the legacy of the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation, organized a feeding program for Grade 7 students at LCC Bacolod Night High School. This initiative, held in conjunction with the congregation-wide celebration of Mother Consuelo’s Day, marked a significant step in the renewed efforts towards the beatification of Ven. Mo. Consuelo.

The event, which served as the focal point of Mother Consuelo’s Day at LCC Bacolod, resonated with the essence of her mission to the Philippines, capturing her unwavering commitment to serving the marginalized and nurturing the spirit of compassion and consolation within communities. Students were not only nourished with food but also with the timeless values embodied by Ven. Mo. Consuelo.

Among the activities that adorned Mother Consuelo’s Day were the solemn Opening Liturgy conducted by the Center for Spirituality and Mission. Sr. Joan BC S. Infante, OSA, School President, delivered an inspirational message, urging attendees to emulate the virtues of Ven. Mo. Consuelo in their daily lives.

Adding a vibrant flair to the event, NOPSSCEA representatives from LCC Bacolod showcased their talents through captivating intermission numbers, including a dynamic Hiphop performance from both the Grade School and Junior High School. The atmosphere buzzed with creativity as participants engaged in competitions such as Song Interpretation, Verse Choir, Song Composition, and the creation of the Best Poster and Comic Strip, all centered around the virtues exemplified by Mo. Consuelo.

Attendees also tested their knowledge with trivia questions, further deepening their appreciation for the profound legacy of Ven. Mo. Consuelo.

As the day drew to a close, participants joined in a poignant Closing Hymn, honoring Ven. Mo. Consuelo Barcelo y Pages, the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation, and LCC Bacolod’s Co-Foundress.

Through acts of benevolence, artistic expression, and spiritual reflection, Mother Consuelo’s Day at LCC Bacolod served as a reminder of the enduring impact of Ven. Mo.
