La Consolacion College Bacolod Architecture Program Faculty meets with DOST WVCIEERD

Bacolod City, November 8, 2023 – La Consolacion College Bacolod Architecture program faculty met with the Department of Science and Technology – Western Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (WVCIEERD) on November 8, 2023 in Bacolod City to discuss the institution’s intention to become a member of the consortium.

The meeting was part of Western Visayas Consortium for Industry and Energy Research and Development‘s advocacy campaign to widen networks for research and establish linkages with other academic and research institutions.

LCC Vice President for Research, Innovations, and Linkages Rodjhun Navarro presented the institution’s research agenda and higher education degree programs.

WVCIEERD Director Dr. Carmelo Ambut expressed his appreciation for LCC’s intention to join the consortium and offered various programs where the institution may participate, such as visiting faculty expert opportunities, capability and capacity building, and funded research.

Dr. Ambut said that LCC Bacolod’s programs could align with WVCIEERD’s research agenda in areas such as disaster risk reduction management (DRRM), food safety, and information and communications technology (ICT).

He encouraged LCC to submit proposals that focus on innovative solutions that can impact the community and be patented and commercialized.

LCC Architecture program administrators Ar. Vincent Raymund Alovera and Ar. Demie Verde, and faculty members Sr. Jonilyn Florentino and Engr. John Louie Gregory Salvarino also attended the meeting.

LCC is expected to submit its application for official membership to the WVCIEER in the next few days.

The meeting was a productive step towards strengthening the collaboration between LCC and WVCIEER in research and development.#
