La Consolacion College Bacolod is joining the highly-anticipated inaugural Negros Island Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA), sending delegations to compete in eight different sporting events.
The LCCB athletes will be vying for glory in Basketball (5×5 Men’s and 3×3 Men’s), Volleyball (Women’s and Men’s), Athletics (Men’s and Women’s), Taekwondo (Men’s and Women’s), Chess (Men’s and Women’s), and Table Tennis (Men’s and Women’s).
The Negros Island PRISAA’s opening ceremonies will be held on April 26, 2024, with the games officially kicking off on April 27. The establishment of the new regional organization was approved by the PRISAA national board in anticipation of the creation of the Negros Island Region (NIR) which will encompass Negros Occidental and Siquijor provinces. Winners of the regional elimination rounds will have the opportunity to compete in the national games.
Dr. Ryan Mark Molina, Second Vice President of the PRISAA national board, expressed his excitement for the inaugural games, highlighting the participation of 12 Higher Education Institutions. He anticipates further growth in the number of participating schools with the expected concurrence of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural, and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA).
LCC Bacolod President, Sr. Joan Brigida Corazon S. Infante, OSA, welcomed the establishment of the Negros Island PRISAA, stating it opens up “more avenues for our students to excel in sports.”
