La Consolacion College Bacolod STEM Team Qualifies for Finals of DOST’s 6th imake.wemake Competition with Innovative Mushroom Farming Device

La Consolacion College Bacolod’s Senior High School STEM strand team has made history by becoming the only team from the Western Visayas region to qualify for the finals of the 6th π’Šπ’Žπ’‚π’Œπ’†.π’˜π’†π’Žπ’‚π’Œπ’† Competition organized by the Department of Science and Technology. The team’s innovative proposal, Project M.H.A.Y.A (Maintenance and Harvest Automation using YOLO Algorithm): A Solar-powered Hydroponic Mushroom Farming Device, impressed the judges, and they will participate in DOST’s in-person technical training, workshop, and mentoring in Manila from March 13 to 17, 2023.

Sr. Joan Brigida Corazon S. Infante, OSA, the President of La Consolacion College Bacolod, expressed her joy and pride in the team’s success, saying, “This achievement is a testament to the quality of education and training that we provide at LCCB. We are committed to fostering innovation and excellence, and the success of the Project MHAYA team underscores this commitment.”

The Principal of La Consolacion College Bacolod, Sr. Natalia C. Agustin, OSA, also congratulated the team on their remarkable achievement, saying, “We are proud to have such brilliant students in our Senior High School, and their success in this competition only reinforces our commitment to providing quality education that fosters innovation and excellence.”

Project members Arianna Alexa Amedo, Mikylla Bucabal, Geson Cabalatungan, and Andrew Eroyla will undergo extensive technical training and mentoring as they compete for the championship title. Under the guidance of Mr. Felix Dalida as Coach and Mr. Jomil Villanueva, STEM Strand Chair, the team was able to beat out other entries from across the country.

The LCCB community is rallying behind the Project MHAYA team, and we wish them all the best as they represent the institution and the Western Visayas region in the competition.
