La Consolacion College Bacolod successfully concluded the two-day PAASCU Level III re-survey of its Integrated Basic Education Department on Aug. 25, marking another milestone in the school’s continuing quality assurance and institutional improvement efforts.
The re-survey, conducted Aug. 24-25 by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities, involved a series of classroom observations, interviews, stakeholder meetings, document reviews and institutional discussions covering key areas of basic education operations.
Administrators, faculty members, non-teaching personnel, students, parents, alumni and community partners participated in the evaluation process, providing the survey team with a broad view of the department’s programs, systems and practices.
The visit concluded with a closing meeting during which Mr. Jose Ramelle Javier, speaking for the survey team, presented preliminary observations on the school’s strengths and areas for continued development.

Among the areas recognized by the team were governance, quality assurance, teaching and learning, resource management, student services, external relations and institutional results.
The team also acknowledged the dedication of teaching and non-teaching personnel, the school’s commitment to quality improvement and classroom practices that foster student engagement.
LCC Bacolod President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, said the re-survey provided the institution with an important opportunity to reflect on how its mission and values are translated into actual school practices.
She noted that the preparation and evaluation process allowed the school community to look closely at classroom instruction, institutional systems and the integration of values in the learning experience.
Sr. Irene M. Bancolo, OSA, who oversaw the overall readiness of the department, said the successful completion of the visit reflected the collective work of different academic and administrative units.
Preparations for the re-survey included mock accreditation activities, seminars, workshops, classroom observations, meetings, exhibit preparation and extensive administrative work aimed at reviewing both documentary evidence and actual implementation.
School officials emphasized that the process was not undertaken merely for accreditation compliance but as part of a broader effort to strengthen institutional practices and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
During the closing meeting, Javier also reminded school leaders that some recommendations could already be acted upon even before the official accreditation results are released.
He described the survey team as developmental partners of the institution and thanked the Augustinian sisters, administrators, faculty, personnel and stakeholders for their cooperation throughout the visit.
The successful conclusion of the re-survey now leads to the next phase of the accreditation process, during which PAASCU will complete its evaluation and communicate the official results to the institution.
For LCC Bacolod, the two-day visit served not only as an external assessment but also as an opportunity to affirm existing strengths, identify areas for growth and reinforce its commitment to quality basic education.
