LCC Bacolod faculty and personnel dedicate Holy Hour for the 23rd General Chapter of the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation

One with the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation (ASOLC)  as they take on the final part of their 23rd General Chapter, the faculty and staff comprising the different academic departments and support offices of La Consolacion College Bacolod will be dedicating prayer hours before the Blessed Sacrament on Thursday, December 16, 2021.

A General Chapter is a period where the ASOLC sister-delegates from different missions or assignments gather for communal discernment, prayer, and contemplation as they formulate the resolutions and recommendations that will define the direction of the congregation and their missions in the next four years. The final part of the process is the election of leaders of the congregation.

Founded in 1883, the ASOLC is the Filipino congregation of religious sisters following the rule and spirituality of St. Augustine, which owns and administers 23 educational institutions in the Philippines including LCC Bacolod.

The ASOLC religious sisters play a very crucial role in the continuing existence of LCC Bacolod for more than a hundred years now, in the shaping of the minds and hearts of the students, faculty, personnel and other stakeholder, to possess the values with which LCC Bacolod is built upon; to become the extension of the missionary work started by the founding sisters — to become Christ’s living compassion and consolation to the afflicted, to the last, the least, and the lost.

LCC Bacolod and all other missions of the ASOLC that withstood the test of time would not exist to this day and even amid the challenges of this time, if not for the sisters who dedicated themselves in love and service of God through the roles that they play in their missions.

The Holy Hour will be held at the Chapel in the main campus at 9am.  Sr. Jennifer Del Cruz, OSA will lead the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament which will be followed by songs, gospel reading, meditation psalms, silent prayer and reflection and intercessory prayers.

The Holy Hour will be streamed live via LCC Bacolod’s Official Facebook page, @lccb1919.
