LCC Bacolod Radiates Christmas Cheer with Heartwarming Daigon: Noon at Ngayon Concert

In a celebration that brought together the spirit of Christmas and the power of music, La Consolacion College Bacolod hosted its heartwarming Daigon: Noon at Ngayon Christmas Concert on the evening of December 15 at the LCCB Quadrangle. The event, attended by students, personnel, parents, and various guests, unfolded as a harmonious tapestry of festive melodies and heartening performances.

The Christmas concert opened with an uplifting reflection by Sr. Joan BC S. Infante, OSA, LCCB School President. Her inspirational words set the tone for an enchanting evening filled with melodious wonders.

Part I: LCCB Choral Daigon – A Musical Journey Through the Nativity

The first part of the concert featured the LCCB Choral Daigon, a captivating musical narrative that artfully encapsulated the essence of Christmas. The chorale, under the direction of Ar. Jico Monte, presented a musical depiction of the timeless story of Gabriel, Mary, Joseph, and the Inns. Accompanied by narrations that delved into the profound meanings behind the music, the audience was taken on a heartfelt journey through the Nativity, fostering a deep connection with the true spirit of the season.

Part II: A Musical Odyssey through Christmas Melodies – A Diverse Showcase of Talent

The second part of the concert unfolded as a diverse and dynamic showcase of musical and dance talent within the LCCB community. The program featured a series of performances that ranged from traditional carols to contemporary hits, all creatively curated to create a harmonious experience for the audience.

The LCCB Chorale opened this segment with “Payapang Daigdig,” setting a serene tone for the musical voyage. The Integrated School then took the stage with a lively dance medley featuring “Star Ng Pasko,” “Silent Night Na Naman,” “Last Christmas,” “All I Want for Christmas is You,” and a spirited “Jingle Bell Rock” Medley.

The Senior High School segment introduced a jazzy rendition of “Jingle Bell Rock Remix,” showcasing the versatility and creativity of the performers. Following suit, the College students presented the timeless “Christmas in our Hearts,” infusing the atmosphere with a nostalgic and warm ambiance.

The LCCB Chorale returned to the stage with “Kumukuti-Kutitap” before the Integrated School Cherubs delivered a delightful Christmas Medley, featuring classics such as “Joy to the World,” “Hark the Herald,” “Silent Night,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

A surprise faculty performance added an extra layer of joy, demonstrating the collective talent within the LCCB community. The concert culminated in a grand finale that saw all performers joining together for a Community Sing-along, led by the LCCB Chorale. Candles were lit, creating a visually stunning and emotionally resonant moment as the performers sang in unison, concluding the evening on a poignant note.

Under the guidance of conductor Ar. Jico Monte, the LCC Bacolod Chorale showcased exceptional talent, contributing to the resounding success of the Daigon Christmas Concert. The event was organized by the LCCB Center for Music, Arts & Culture, led by Mrs. Zilla Rozzi H. Javier. The collaborative efforts of the working committee and the entire LCCB community of friends made this concert a remarkable and triumphant celebration of the Christmas spirit.
