LCCB Art Appreciation Classes Present “Nawong: Redefining Perspectives” Exhibition

The House of Friendship in Acacia Hotel Bacolod City was transformed into a vibrant gallery space from March 20th to 22nd, 2024, as the LCCB Art Appreciation and Reading Visual Arts Classes unveiled their exhibition titled “Nawong: Redefining Perspectives.”

Under the mentorship of Mr. Romel Cadigal, a faculty member of the LCCB School of Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Teacher Education, the exhibit showcased a striking collection of artworks crafted in the cubist style. This artistic movement, characterized by fragmented forms and geometric shapes, took on a distinctly Filipino flavor in “Nawong,” celebrating the rich tapestry of Filipino creativity.

Mr. Cadigal shared his insights on the exhibition, stating, “In ‘Nawong: Redefining Perspectives,’ we pay homage to the ingenuity of Filipino artists through the lens of cubism. Each piece serves as a testament to our nation’s innovative spirit, with shapes and colors intertwining to reflect the vibrant essence of our culture.”

The collaborative effort between the Rotary International and La Consolacion College Bacolod Art Appreciation Class aimed to challenge conventional notions of beauty and identity. Through a fusion of traditional and contemporary influences, the artists invited viewers to reconsider their preconceived notions and explore new dimensions of visual expression.

Attendees were captivated by the diverse array of artworks on display, each offering a unique interpretation of Filipino identity and culture. From bold compositions to subtle nuances, “Nawong” served as a platform for students to push the boundaries of artistic expression and redefine the contours of visual storytelling./AV #lccbSSLATE #LCCBat105 #LCCBCommunityofFriends#BuildingDreamsTogetherwithLCCB
