TAIWAN PARTNERSHIP OPENS EDUCATION BEYOND BORDERS FOR LCCIANS

La Consolacion College Bacolod President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, said the college’s partnership with INTACT Base Taiwan-Philippines opens new pathways for LCCians to pursue education, training and professional development beyond familiar borders.

Speaking during the memorandum of understanding signing and INTENSE Program presentation Aug. 14 at the college’s Audio-Visual Center, Catungal said the partnership represents a shared commitment to internationalization, global talent development and industry-academe collaboration.

“This afternoon’s MOU signing with INTACT and the INTENSE Program represents our shared commitment to internationalization, global talent development and industry-academe collaboration,” Catungal said.

She welcomed the guests from INTACT Base Taiwan-Philippines Iloilo Office, including Ms. Krystl Lim, deputy CEO; Dr. Nemia H. Mabaquiao, consultant; Mr. Brian Chen, project manager; and staff members Ms. Ibelle Villa and Ms. Danica Jean Latoja.

Catungal said the initiative builds on LCC Bacolod’s earlier efforts to establish linkages with Taiwan universities. She recalled that the college’s benchmarking activity at Fu Jen Catholic University introduced administrators to possibilities for global exposure and academic collaboration.

“Today, it is now becoming a reality through this MOU signing with INTACT,” she said.

Catungal said opportunities such as the INTENSE Program remind the academic community that education can take learners beyond their usual environment and help them discover what they are capable of achieving.

The INTENSE Program, or International Industrial Talents Education Special Program, is a Taiwan-based study-to-work pathway that connects international students with academic programs, industry training, internship and employment opportunities.

Catungal said the MOU signing should not be seen as the conclusion of the initiative but as the beginning of deeper cooperation between LCC Bacolod and its Taiwan partners.

She said the college looks forward to strengthening collaboration in student development, faculty engagement, academic programs, industry exposure, internships, research and other areas that can benefit both institutions.

“To our partners from Taiwan, thank you for believing in the potential of Filipino students and for opening opportunities for them to pursue education and professional development in Taiwan,” Catungal said.

She also encouraged faculty members and administrators to embrace the partnership not simply as an additional program but as an opportunity to transform how the college prepares students for the future.

Catungal directed a special message to students, saying the partnership was created for them.

“I challenge you to dream bigger,” she said. “The world is waiting for your giftedness, aspirations, talents, ideas, creativity, compassion and willingness.”

She said the MOU signing marks the start of more intentional efforts to prepare students for global opportunities while strengthening LCC Bacolod’s commitment to internationalization and integral formation.

“May this MOU become the foundation of a fruitful and lasting partnership as we share our commitment of giving access to global opportunity in Taiwan,” Catungal said.
