Ensuring Campus Safety: LCCB Takes Proactive Steps with Fire Safety Seminar for Personnel Volunteer Fire Brigade

The La Consolacion College Bacolod Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Office took a proactive stance in promoting fire safety awareness with the successful culmination of the Basic Fire Safety Training held on December 29, 2023.

The event, organized by the LCCB DRRM Office, took place at the LCCB Auditorium and Quadrangle, and was facilitated by guest resource persons from the Bacolod City Fire Station. The training was attended by members of the LCCB Volunteer Fire Brigade, a dedicated group comprised of volunteers from the school’s personnel.

Commencing the training, Engr. John Louie Salvarino, Head of the LCCB Safety Office, delivered an opening message emphasizing the significance of fire safety preparedness in educational institutions and the broader community.

The training progressed with a comprehensive talk on Basic Fire Safety conducted by guest fire officers from the Bacolod City Fire Station. Participants were educated on essential fire safety protocols and preventive measures to ensure a safer environment.

An important part of the training involved a hands-on workshop on the proper use of fire extinguishers. Each participant had the opportunity to actively engage in extinguishing simulated fires, gaining valuable experience in using fire extinguishing equipment. Additionally, a practical demonstration on extinguishing fires involving LPG tanks heightened awareness about handling potential fire hazards.

The interactive session provided participants with practical skills and knowledge essential for responding effectively to fire emergencies. The commitment to hands-on learning underscored the importance of preparedness in real-life situations.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates to the guest resource persons, recognizing their invaluable contribution to enhancing the fire safety knowledge of the LCCB community. Mrs. Bernadette Tupas, LCCB DRRM officer, expressed gratitude in her closing remarks, acknowledging the collective effort to fortify the school’s preparedness for potential fire incidents.

The LCCB Basic Fire Safety Training stands as a testament to the institution’s commitment to fostering a safe and secure learning environment. By equipping its personnel and volunteers with essential fire safety skills, LCCB remains steadfast in its dedication to the well-being and safety of its community members./AV #lccbDRRMO #LCCBCommunityofFriends #BuildingDreamsTogetherwithLCCB
