Ilog Bridge Transformed into Vibrant Canvas in Collaboration Between La Consolacion College Bacolod

ILOG, Negros Occidental – A collaborative art project between the Fine Arts Department of La Consolacion College, the Philippine National Police in Sitio Malabong, and the Municipality of Ilog under the leadership of Mayor Paul Alvarez is gaining recognition for its positive impact on the community.

The project, which involved transforming a previously plain bridge into a vibrant work of art, has been lauded by Congresswoman Mercedes “Cheding” K. Alvarez for its aesthetic and social contributions. This initiative was spearheaded by the college’s Painting Legion Club under the guidance of their mentor, Mr. Buglas Carreon. The talented student artists who brought the project to life include Khyt Dohinog, Shan Paul Evangelista, Miguel San Miguel, Bert Silva, JM Ginete, John Quincy Hervias, Thea Muscosa, Apple Garzon, Disnoy Agsam, Janine Ledesma, and Jester Anierdes.

“This initiative not only adds beauty to the community,” said Congresswoman Alvarez, “but it also serves as a testament to the power of art in enriching the environment and fostering a sense of pride and belonging among residents.”

The colorful bridge art serves as a constant reminder to appreciate the beauty surrounding us, uplifting spirits and promoting a sense of unity within the Ilog community.#
