LCCB Teacher Education Students Complete Pre-Service Teaching

Teacher education plays a crucial role in shaping the future of education and ensuring that students receive quality instruction. Aspiring teachers need practical experience in real classroom settings to develop their teaching skills and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and rewards of the profession. Recently, the Teacher Education Students from the LCCB School of Sciences, Liberal Arts & Teacher Education successfully completed their pre-service teaching, marking a significant milestone in their journey towards becoming LCCian educators.

The pre-service teaching program for the Elementary Education students took place at the Education and Training Center School (ETCS), while the Secondary Education students were deployed to the Negros Occidental High School (NOHS). This practical teaching experience provided them with an opportunity to put their theoretical knowledge into practice and develop their teaching abilities.

The pre-service teaching program was designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for the aspiring teachers. Throughout the program, the students were actively engaged in classroom instruction, lesson planning, and student assessment. Under the guidance and supervision of experienced cooperating teachers, they were able to observe and participate in various teaching strategies and classroom management techniques.

One of the highlights of the program was the scheduled feedback sessions that took place every Friday. These sessions offered valuable insights and constructive criticism to help the pre-service teachers improve their teaching methods. The feedback sessions provided a platform for open dialogue, where the students could reflect on their teaching practices, address any challenges they encountered, and receive guidance on how to enhance their pedagogical skills.

In addition to the weekly feedback sessions, the program also included Lesson Demonstrations. This platform allowed the pre-service teachers to showcase their instructional abilities by delivering lessons to their assigned classes. It provided them with an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired during their teacher education program. The Lesson Demonstrations not only enhanced their confidence in the classroom but also allowed them to receive valuable feedback from their cooperating teachers and peers.

As the pre-service teaching program drew to a close, an Appreciation Day was organized to express gratitude to the cooperating teachers for their guidance and support throughout the program. This day served as a platform for the aspiring teachers to express their appreciation and reflect on the valuable lessons they learned from their cooperating teachers. It was a moment of celebration and acknowledgment of the tremendous efforts put forth by both the pre-service teachers and their mentors.

Furthermore, the pre-service teachers also had the opportunity to gain additional teaching experience through an in-service training at the LCCB Night High School. This training, which took place on May 25, 2023, allowed them to engage with a different set of students and further enhance their teaching skills.

Completing the pre-service teaching program is a significant milestone in the journey of these aspiring teachers. It has equipped them with invaluable practical experience, improved their teaching techniques, and prepared them for the challenges that lie ahead. The dedication and commitment they demonstrated throughout the program have undoubtedly contributed to their growth and development as future educators.

As these Teacher Education Students from LCCB conclude their pre-service teaching, they are now poised to embark on the next phase of their journey: becoming Licensed Professional Teachers. Armed with the knowledge and skills gained during their teacher education program, they are ready to step into classrooms, working closely with experienced educators to refine their instructional abilities and make a positive impact on the lives of their students.

The completion of the pre-service teaching program marks an important milestone in the professional development of these future educators. As they continue on their path to becoming teachers, their experiences at ETCS, NOHS, and LCCB Night High School will undoubtedly serve as a solid foundation upon which they can build their teaching careers. #lccbSSLATE #LCCBat104 #LCCBCommunityofFriends
