“Research Made Easy” virtual writeshop for returning adults

La Consolacion College Bacolod will host a virtual writeshop for adult students in the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) with Dr. Genaro Japos, Founding President of the Philippine Association of Institutions for Research (PAIR) as resource person. The said event will be on November 27, Saturday.

A major requirement for the attainment of the degree programs, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Bachelor Arts in English Language Studies through the ETEEAP, is that the students must be able to defend a thesis paper on their field of specialization by the end of the academic year. LCC Bacolod offers specializations in Human Resource Management and Marketing Management in the BSBA program.

VP for Academic Affairs, Sr. Joan Infante, OSA, said that the virtual writeshop will be an opportunity for the adult students to learn the rigors of research from Dr. Japos who is known for his “simple, not intimidating, and practical” approach to research writing.

She added that the adult students have the potential to produce thesis papers that are beneficial for their own organization and community because their work experiences will help them identify problems that are relevant and realistic.

She hopes that their academic experience in LCC Bacolod for a period of 10 months will help them develop critical thinking and problem solving skills based on research, which are really important for the survival and development of any organization in the 21st century.*
