There are stories that begin with business plans—and then there are stories that begin with purpose.
When Bernadette Delos Santos stepped onto the stage at the Audio-Visual Center on March 23, she did not simply talk about building a brand. She told a story about building meaning.
In a room filled with Fine Arts and Business Administration students of La Consolacion College Bacolod, her message resonated beyond technique or entrepreneurship. It was about intention—how creativity, when anchored in values, can transform not just products, but communities.
Delos Santos introduced her enterprise, BIDIBIDI, not as a conventional business, but as a living advocacy. Rooted in the idea of “doing business with a heart,” her work bridges art and social responsibility—promoting circular fashion, environmental stewardship, education, and women empowerment.
Her journey, which began in 2017, has since crossed borders—from local fairs in Naga City to international platforms in Vietnam, Thailand, Dubai, South Korea, Cambodia, and India. Yet, despite the global recognition, the core of her work remains deeply personal: creating opportunities for others, especially women, to thrive through creativity and enterprise. 
What struck many in the audience was not just the scale of her achievements, but the clarity of her purpose. In an age where success is often measured by profit and visibility, Delos Santos reframed it as impact—how many lives are uplifted, how many voices are empowered, how many stories are given space to be told.
For students navigating their own paths in art and business, her talk offered something more than inspiration. It offered a challenge.
To create with intention.
To build with integrity.
And to remember that the most meaningful work is often the kind that serves others.

“As we celebrate Women’s Month, we are reminded that true empowerment is rooted in purpose. Like Mary, we are called to use our gifts not for ourselves alone, but in service of others. May our students learn that success becomes meaningful when it is offered for the good of the community.”
As LCCB continues its celebration of Women’s Month, the conversation sparked by Delos Santos lingers—not as a conclusion, but as an invitation. An invitation to imagine careers not just as professions, but as platforms for purpose.
