Bacolod-based French Engineer to give an introductory webinar on Building Information Modeling (BIM) among the ARFIEN faculty and students

LCC Bacolod’s School of Architecture, Fine Arts, and Interior Design will hold a webinar on Building Information Modeling (BIM) for its students and faculty on December 2 at 9am via Google Meet.

The resource person is Ton-trong Ho, a French engineer based in Bacolod City. Ho is a 3D Entrepreneur with extensive experience in CAD & 3D Organic tools – producing industrial or Architectural PBR images, 3D animation, and VR integration among others.

BIM is a tool to create and manage information for a built asset according to Ho. The technology has been adopted at an increasing rate in the architecture, engineering and construction industry world wide especially with national standards developed in the US and the UK.

Dean Vincent Alovera, said that BIM is not only beneficial for those studying architecture but even those in other fields such as interior design, industrial design, and even digital media arts.

Sr. Joan Infante OSA, VP for Academic Affairs explained that LCC Bacolod is gearing towards increasing integration of digital technologies in design programs. She said that the goal of LCC Bacolod is to build capabilities of the faculty and strengthen the capacity of the college to deliver curriculums that are centered around the development of digital skills to provide for the needs of the industry.
