LCCB NSTP and IEAP Conclude Successful First Semester Mangrove Growing and Coastal Clean-up Series with Third Batch

On December 2, 2023, the La Consolacion College Bacolod National Service Training Program (NSTP) and Institutional Environmental Advocacy Program (IEAP) marked the culmination of their Mangrove Growing and Coastal Clean-up series at the adopted mangrove site in Purok Can-itom, Brgy. Sampinit, Bago City.

Enthusiastically contributing to the cause were NSTP students and advisers from sections Leadership, Magnanimity, and Obedience, totaling almost 150 participants who actively engaged in planting 500 mangrove seedlings. The event took on an even more collaborative and expansive dimension with the involvement of external partners. The Rotary Club of Bacolod South, under the leadership of Engr. Dario S. Recuelo, played a pivotal role by adding 200 mangrove propagules to the initiative.

Highlighting the diverse and widespread support, the Business Management Association of the Philippines (BMAP), a student organization from the LCCB School of Business and Information Technology, and the Amity Youth Volunteer LCCB Chapter also lent their hands to the commendable cause.

As a result of these collective efforts, the LCCB NSTP and IEAP proudly announced that a total of 2,200 mangroves have been planted during the first semester of the academic year 2023 – 2024. This monumental achievement stands as a testament to the power of collaborative environmental stewardship within the LCCB community.

Expressions of gratitude extend to the City Environment Management Office of the City of Bago for their unwavering partnership and support throughout this endeavor. Since 2019, LCCB, through its IEAP, has been diligently maintaining the mangrove site, underscoring the institution’s commitment to the long-term health and sustainability of the local ecosystem. The success of this series echoes not only in the numbers planted but also in the profound impact it has on instilling a sense of environmental responsibility and community engagement among the students and collaborators involved. #lccbNSTP #lccbIEAP #GreenerLCCB #LCCianNationBuilders #LCCBNSTPBatchHiraya
