LCCB SSLATE’s Annual Aristeia Fest: Forging Futures, Embracing the Call to Excellence

The LCCB School of Sciences, Liberal Arts & Teacher Education once again illuminated the campus with intellectual vibrancy and artistic flair during its much-anticipated Annual Aristeia Fest. Spanning from December 5 to December 9, 2023, this week-long celebration encapsulated the school’s commitment to nurturing academic excellence, creativity, and community spirit under the resounding theme, “Forging Futures, Embracing the Call to Excellence.”

The festivity commenced with an Opening Program at the College Atrium, where Dr. Penny Sanchez, SSLATE Dean, welcomed participants with words of encouragement and inspiration. The ceremonial ribbon cutting of the Learning Outputs Exhibit marked the formal commencement of the festivities, showcasing the academic excellence and creativity of the student body.

Adding cultural richness to the event aligned to the Mandarin subject offering, the Amity Youth Volunteer LCCB Chapter performed a mesmerizing Dragon Dance, captivating the audience with a fusion of tradition and modernity. The energy soared as freshmen students engaged in a GrooveFit-Zumba session, infusing the gathering with youthful exuberance. Simultaneously, the Interactive Rooms unveiled a treasure trove of learning outputs, highlighting the depth and diversity of achievements in various General Education subjects.

The second day of Aristeia Fest was dedicated to intellectual exploration, featuring a Seminar on “Pioneering Perspectives on Historical Research and Gender Development.” Dr. Ana Alegada, delivered an enlightening talk on Gender Development, emphasizing the importance of inclusive perspectives. Following this, Dr. Stephanie Coo provided a captivating discourse on “Clothing the Colony” within the context of Historical Research, encouraging a profound reflection on the intersections of culture and history.

The Interactive Rooms Tour proved to be an invaluable opportunity for students and teachers from DepEd Schools to witness firsthand the innovative and insightful projects of LCCB students. This collaborative exchange of ideas and knowledge laid the foundation for a broader academic community.

The third day sustained the fest’s momentum, maintaining the excitement of the Interactive Rooms Tour. Attendees reveled in the immersive experience, gaining deeper insights into the academic achievements and creativity that define LCCB students. The fest not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also facilitated a collective journey of exploration, fostering a dynamic environment of academic growth and camaraderie.

The grand finale of the Aristeia Fest unfolded with the solemn Pinning Ceremony for Pre-Service Teachers and interns from the AB English Language Studies and BS Psychology programs. Held at the School Chapel, the ceremony symbolized the commitment of our SSLATE graduating students to their respective future professions, underscoring the importance of mentorship and service to future generations.

As the curtains gracefully closed on the Annual Aristeia Fest, the LCCB School of Sciences, Liberal Arts & Teacher Education took a collective breath, reflecting on a week filled with intellectual brilliance, cultural richness, and a shared dedication to excellence.
